Single review – Katie Cole’s ‘(We Started a) Fire’

Kicking straight in with impactful drums and a bass line to match, the new single from Katie Cole isn’t backwards about coming forward. Out now – released one week before the onrushing album ‘Lay it All Down’ – the single is a country pop tune that is at once a stand out from the LP and also typical of her sound.

Reportedly inspired by the likes of Sheryl Crow and KT Tunstall, ‘(We Started a) Fire’ is a tribute to the excitement of meeting someone new, delivered in a textured vocal that’s perfect for the country style.

The performance based video, simple but effective, is as well produced as the track (and the rest of the album for that matter) making it well worth a look/listen.
